The Secret Pain of Having Flat Feet

In most cases, having flat feet won’t cause any issues. It can make shoe shopping a little complicated, but other than that, there isn’t much to worry about unless your feet are causing you pain. Then you have reason to be concerned. You can make simple solutions that will offer significant support, and surgery doesn’t need to happen. A common misconception is performing surgery for flat-footed people is to simply correct the issue. That isn’t its sole purpose. An additional reason is for a tendon tear or a rupture that causes damage and pain to your ankle and foot.

Treatment

If being flat-footed is causing you pain, there are remedies a podiatrist can recommend to provide you with comfort.

Stretch-A common problem with flat feet people is in many cases; they also suffer from an Achilles tendon on the shorter side. Exercise can help the tendon, which in turn helps the pain in your feet.

The proper footwear- a customized shoe, can offer the support and comfort that your body needs. Sneakers and sandals provide almost no support for a person with flat feet. Custom orthotics, on the other hand, could do wonders.

Bare feet will hurt- walking on your bare feet will add to the pain you are feeling. Instead of walking barefoot, wear supportive slippers to cushion your feet.

Therapy- a podiatrist can provide you with a great physical therapist who can significantly help your feet. If you are an athletic person, their help would be vital as the more active you are, the more substantial chance you have of injuring yourself.

Cold-by placing a cold water bottle underneath your foot, you have a way to exercise your tendons by rolling it back and forth, and the coolness of the bottle relieves inflammation.
